Educating patients using virtual reality

Written by Ethosh | Oct 19, 2021 4:56:29 AM
After a company installed its first robotic-assisted spine surgery apparatus at a hospital, it was important to help the hospital communicate the new technology’s advantages to the patients who could benefit from it. To accomplish this, Ethosh developed an immersive experience to show patients the real-time benefits of the technology by bringing them into the OR virtually. This experience helped patients make an informed choice about the surgery technique, thereby increasing its overall adoption at the hospital.

Challenges
Patients will reject new technology in favor of less expensive treatments if the benefits of the technology are not communicated to them.

Solution

Our innovative, immersive virtual reality experience takes patients through the benefits of the new technology before, during, and after their surgery.

Outcome

  • Patient confidence
in the value and reliability of the technology
  • Increased adoption
of a robotic solution by more patients
  • Reduced time spent
by the surgeon with each patient explaining minor details

Ethosh’s scope of work

  • Video messaging strategy and scripting
  • Coordination with the KOL and hospital staff
  • 360-degree recording
  • 360-degree edits and compilation with graphics for easy understanding
